GETTING STARTED WITH RESEARCH
IU Computing Account
To access many of the training and research systems detailed in the Clinical Research Roadmap, an IU Computing Account is required. Students, faculty and staff at IU will have an IU computing account established when they join IU.
IU Computing Account as an IU Affiliate (IU Affiliate Account)
For more information, look to the Sponsor a computing account for an IU affiliate webpage at IU. A detailed list of requirements and steps to take to receive an account is available there. Individuals who are not students, faculty, or staff, but who are affiliated with IU (for example, IU Health employees, contracted employees, or consultants) may be eligible for an IU Affiliate Account. These individuals will need a full-time IU faculty or staff member to sponsor the account in order to gain access to research systems and resources.
Your IU Sponsor will need to request the account on your behalf, or you may follow this IU IRB REDCAP link and complete the form to make the request yourself. If you choose to make the request yourself with the IRB, you will need to provide your date of birth and work address, among other things.
Please note the two items below:
- You will also need DUO Authentication to log in to your IU accounts, as DUO is the chosen multi-factor authentication system. More information on setup can be found here at the IU DUO Information Page.
- If you ever have trouble logging in or no longer remember your login credentials, you will need to contact ITHelp@IU.edu for assistance.
Once your request is approved, you will receive an email that contains your next-steps instructions. Follow this email to set up and complete your account.
