GETTING STARTED WITH RESEARCH

IU Health Oracle Learn

IU Health uses Oracle Learn to deliver education and training requirements within the healthcare system. For research, there are two portions of education: the initial training and the annual training. Initial training consists of modules that introduce individuals to the policies, procedures, culture and obligations of IU Health. Annual training consists of modules that serve as reminders or contain updates for these elements. 

Depending on your role related to research activities, the mandatory modules may differ. 

Training Module Requirements by Role

Monitors – Research monitors will need to complete the following Oracle Learn training modules to be compliant with IU Health requirements:

  1. HIPAA
  2. Information Security 

Researchers – Anyone who is personnel on a research study or engaged in research, but who is not a monitor, must complete the following Oracle Learn modules to be compliant with IU Health requirements: 

  1. HIPAA
  2. Information Security
  3. Environment of Care (not required if completely remote)
  4. Infection Prevention (not required if completely remote)
