Research Participation

Researchers from Indiana University, its strategic partner, IU Health, and other research collaborators conduct a broad range of studies to determine whether new medicines, procedures, equipment and therapies are safe and effective in treating, diagnosing, preventing or caring for people with specific illnesses or conditions. There are a variety of ways to search for clinical trials. Below are several options.

Local Clinical Trials

You can search through all local studies (clinical trials) being conducted by Indiana University, IU Health, and other research collaborators. If you are unable to locate a study for a specific disease/condition (or studies for healthy volunteers), please contact the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute at: (317) 278-2176.

US & Worldwide Clinical Trials

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) maintains a registry of federally and privately supported clinical trials conducted in the United States and around the world. This site provides information various about clinical trials: purpose, who may participate, locations, and contact information (i.e., phone numbers) for more details. This information should be used in conjunction with advice from health care professional.

Multiple resources for seeking clinical trials.

Multiple resources and links specific to clinical trials for children.

NIH-funded initiative to connect 1) people who are trying to find research studies, and 2) researchers seeking people to participate in their studies. This free, secure registry makes it easier to volunteer and  become involved in clinical research studies that contribute to improved health in the future.
