Medicaid Attestation

In the “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021” amendments were made to Section 1905 of the Social Security Act as it pertains to the coverage of routine patient costs for items and services furnished to a State plan beneficiary in connection with participation in a qualifying clinical trial.

A Bulletin was released Oct. 4th, 2022. There remains outstanding questions, and IU Health will continue to seek additional information. However, previous communication with Indiana FSSA was very clear. For IU Health, the Attestation is to be completed and saved within the EMR. This should take place at the time of consent.

Please review the presentation below for information and guidance on when and how the attestation should be completed and provided to IU Health and Eskenazi Health.
